Read and Share Stories About Jesus - Gwen Ellis

I was pretty excited when I was able to choose a book for the kids from Booksneeze this time. As part of the Read and Share brand, Stories About Jesus features 13 short stories about Jesus’ lifetime, beginning with his birth as recorded in Luke and ending with his ascension into heaven.

Cons: The only real problem I have with the book is that it glosses over the crucifixion. This is the extent of the coverage of the crucifixion:

“Before Jesus went back to heaven to live with God, He did things to show that he was God’s son. He even died and came back to life.”
Now, I don’t have a clue how you explain the crucifixion to a child, but I had hoped it would be included.

Pros: The board book format is EXCELLENT for my son who loves to chew everything. I LOVE board books for their indestructible nature!! Each story is only two pages, which makes for a quick devotional for short attention spans. At the end of each story there is a summary and discussion question. It has wonderful, colorful pictures that perfectly illustrate the story. I like the book and, more importantly, my kids like it!

Honestly, I was really excited to see a book that was available that I could get through quickly so I could order again :)

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
