So anyone that knows Reuben knows he likes sports. And anyone that knows him well knows he LOVES the Edmonton Oilers. Since he's been in the states, he has gone through hockey withdrawal. When we were in North Carolina, he would go a couple times a month to play pickup hockey in Greensboro, but since we've been in Maryland (ironically, even though it is MUCH colder) there hasn't been any hockey.
Background Story, Part 2
So Reuben is incredibly hard to buy for (birthday, Christmas, etc.). He usually just ends up getting practical things that he can use rather than something he might just enjoy. This year, however, I was determined to get him something special. And that's when I saw it. The Edmonton Oilers were playing the Washington Capitals in D.C. - about 2 1/2 hours from us. So thanks to ebay and someone who apparently didn't care about going to this game, we got some GREAT tickets (7th row from the ice behind the Oiler's bench!!) for pretty cheap!!
We had a fantastic time complete with a D.C. metro ride that was only slightly terrifying, great food at Hard Rock Cafe, and a 5-2 Oilers victory!!

These are fantastic photos! It looks like you guys had a great time. When in doubt, tickets to a sports event are always good! :) It's interesting that they were playing the Caps -- that's my cousin's fave team (she lives in Catonsville). She goes to a lot of their games...I wonder if she was there? I think you met Melinda at some point...
You look great, by the way!
